3 "OPERATES ON ELECTRICITY RATHER THAN GAS. A HOME WARRANTY
4 SERVICE CONTRACT MAY REQUIRE A HOMEOWNER TO PAY ANY
5 ADDITIONAL COST TO REPLACE A GAS-FUELED APPLIANCE WITH AN
6 APPLIANCE THAT HAS A RETAIL COST THAT EXCEEDS THE COST OF
7 REPLACING THE GAS-FUELED APPLIANCE WITH ANOTHER GAS-FUELED
8 APPLIANCE UNDER THE TERMS OF THE HOME WARRANTY SERVICE
9 CONTRACT.
10 (II) PROVIDING THAT THE HOME WARRANTY SERVICE COMPANY IS
11 REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT APPLIANCE THAT SATISFIES THE

Willford; also Senator(s) Cutter, Marchman--Concerning mandatory provisions in home
warranty service contracts, and, in connection therewith, requiring a home warranty service
contract to include terms allowing a homeowner to replace any of certain gas-fueled
devices with a device that operates on electricity.
A majority of those elected to the Senate having voted in the affirmative, Senator Cutter
was given permission to offer a third reading amendment.

Amend revised bill, page 5, line 17, strike the first "THE" and substitute "ANY"
and after "HOMEOWNER" insert "FOR THE REPLACEMENT ELECTRIC APPLIANCE,
EXCLUDING ANY INSTALLATION OR OTHER ASSOCIATED COSTS,".
